Policies and Guidance for NHS England & Improvement – South East

NHS England & Improvement – South East

As of Friday 7th February 2020, NHS England and Improvement (South East) introduced the Dental Electronic Referral System covering Wessex (Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Dorset) and Thames Valley (Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire).  This covers all orthodontic, oral surgery, maxillofacial, oral medicine, restorative and special care/paediatric referrals.

This means we can no longer accept written or typed referrals from General Dental Practitioners for patients in Wessex and Thames Valley.  The referral must be made via the Dental Electronic Referral System (DERS).

This also applies to all practices in Wessex and Thames Valley that do not have an NHS contract.

If you are an NHS dental practice you have already been notified of this change, DERS will have been installed on your practice IT system and training has been provided by Vantage Health, the company who are working in partnership with NHS England.

If you are a private practice in Wessex or Thames Valley or an out of area practice wishing to make a dental referral you may not have been set up with the appropriate weblink allowing access to DERS.

Please therefore contact Vantage Health who will be able to provide you with appropriate access to https://ref.management/login allowing you to make online referrals. Their telephone number is 0207 993 5870 or you can register your practice with an account to use DERS by filling out this web form: http://signup.vantage.health/
